Buenos días. Hace un mes y medio compré un piso en Murcia y este mes, que toca hacer el pago de los suministros, me han pasado un recibo del agua del anterior propietario. El importe no es muy elevado, pero es de un período de facturación anterior a la compra-venta y por lo tanto no me corresponde pagarlo. Me gustaría saber si es aconsejable pagarlo o no, porque no quiero que me den de baja el suministro.

Nuestro consejo es que abone el importe del recibo de agua, ya que nos comenta que no es muy elevado, y posteriormente trate de recuperarlos del anterior propietario (puesto que no corresponden a su consumo). Lo importante es que no deje de pagar la factura a la compañía, ya que a ésta no le interesa saber quién ha efectuado el consumo. Ellos se basan en su contador y, de no pagar la factura, pueden proceder al corte del suministro.

Our advice is to pay the bill as you confirm that the amount is not high. After then, you may try to get the refund from the previous owner (as you have not consumed that water). The most important is to pay the bill as the water company is not interested in who used the property in that period. They just read the meter and if the bill is not paid, they will simply cut the supply off.
