Hello there, with the wind these days some damages have been produced to the pergola that I have in the garden, in concrete the awning and part of the metal structure. I have been informed by the Insurance Company that although the speed of the wind was higher than the required by the policy, due to the fact that the pergola is outside of the house, the coverage is excluded.
Is that correct?
Thank you in advance.

Generally home insurance policies exclude damage produced by wind suffered on the Content that is placed outside of the house, although they are including it very frequently, so you should look into the general conditions and terms of your policy.
You did not specify if your pergola is anchored to the floor with screws or anything alike, since in this case it would be considered as part of the Building, having full damage cover.
