My community is in debt with a contractor who did some works on the facades of the block. Although we all paid an extra bill for that, the President and the administrators are now saying that the owners need to share the payment of the debt to pay to the contractor. Shall I pay again for the same thing?
Administrator: Juan López
It is in the art. 22 of the Horizontal Propiertors Law that the expenditures of the community shall be shared by all owners. So, technically, you all are obliged to pay in accordance with your coefficient. If this is not fulfilled, the community will have to initiate a long and expensive legal procedure against every debtor. However, I recommend you to question the president and administrator about the reasons why the community did not pay the bill of the contractor with the money collected for that.
