Hello. The Statute of my community state how the awnings for the commercial sites shall be. I am willing to have one fitted but my neighbours say that first I need the authorization of the community. Do I need it as long as it is included in the Statute?

Good morning. The limits and prohibitions regarding the use or amendments of the properties shall be expressed in the Statute or constitution deeds. So, if the Statute of your community state how the awnings shall be, you don´t need authorization. The board may control the works just to ensure that the safety and structure of the building or the neighbours rights are not damaged. I recommend you to inform the President about the works you will be doing, but he cannot deny them.
