Hace un mes empecé a hacer obras en mi casa para cambiar la distribución de mi salón, pero me encuentro con que algún vecino me ha llamado la atención por no pedir previamente permiso a la Comunidad, ¿es obligatorio la autorización previa de la Comunidad? ¿Pueden denunciarme por ello?

No, no pueden denunciarle por realizar una reforma en el interior de su vivienda, en concreto en su salón, pues tal y como nos expone dicha obra en nada altera la seguridad, estructura o configuración exterior del edificio o perjudica a derechos de otro propietario, tal y como se establece en el artículo 7.1 de la Ley de Propiedad Horizontal. Sin embargo, sí tendría que haberlo puesto en conocimiento del Presidente las obras que se iban a llevar a cabo con el fin de que pudiera asegurarse que no se iba a alterar ningún elemento común (por ejemplo tirar un muro de carga). No obstante, el no haberlo puesto en su conocimiento no acarrea ninguna sanción sino que se trata más bien de asegurar la buena convivencia comunitaria.

No, they can not ; it is the interior of your home, specifically in their living room, because as we said works noty altering configuration outside of the building, structure, or security or harms another property rights, as set out in article 7.1 of the Horizontal property law. However, you would have to have it made known to the President to ensure that it would not alter any common element (e.g. shooting a load-bearing wall). However, not having done it is not reason for sanction but it is rather of ensuring good community relation
